Does anyone have any spare stables or even a barn or large shed? We have been asked to leave a yard with only a few days notice due to lease holder having a major car accident and being unable to work. There are 5 donkeys, a mule and 3 miniature Shetlands which shared 3 stables needing a place to go temporarily. Is there anyone able to help? Stirling area, based in Fintry!

Would consider anywhere between Glasgow and Stirling including Bearsden Milngavie area or over towards Lennoxtown.

We would care for the animals and do all the feeding and mucking out etc.  They simply need a roof over their heads! Thank you!

UPDATE – 10/02/12

We have found a new home and are moving the animals on saturday!  A lot of preparation and moving of hay and shavings has already been done this week so hopefully it will go smoothly!

UPDATE – 12/02/12

The animals have been moved!  Unfortunately on the final trip back to Fintry Mione’s car Mitzi broke down in Strathblane while pulling the trailer and it was a long wait for a rescue vehicle to arrive which was big enough to take both vehicles.   At least the animals were not on board however the humans were not too happy!

There will be a few jobs to do today however it is clear already that they have moved to a new home where they will be well cared for by the Stable owners as well as our own “humans”.  A huge thank you to all concerned!

The Donkeys and the Mini Shetlands have settled in well in their new quarters and already have a fan club!
